Such as, Ed and Eddie Ruscha, Roberto Matta-Matta Clark, John and Julian Lennon and many others. In these collaboration pieces the artistic talents of both father and son come together to display the elaborate complexity of the abstract style of John Zender with the intimate beauty of the painted rendering of nature in the work of Deon Z. Estrada

Deon Zender Estrada, a naturalist painter, who fell in love with marine life at age 6. Even though his first drawings were mostly comic books and robots. He discovered his passion for painting fish when he was helping his dad (John) paint a mural, he was 11 years old. Since then, now 16 he has created a body of work that centers around marine life and birds.
The Collaborations: Deon Zender hopes to become a marine biologist one day and with that his desire to help the ocean is also an important part of his life. One day while discussing issues regarding the corral reef with his father, the idea of making art that would help bring awareness of these environmental issues came up. These collaborations began with a “stop the trash” whale painting.
